The Dake House

We Thin Veil Investigators have had
the fortunate opportunity to investigate
this fabulous building for many years.
Many interesting spirits who reside, or,
who are just passing through, have
been seen, photographed and/or
interviewed by us.
The 2010 Spirit Tour was another
wonderful opportunity to meet new
spirits and the chance to say hello to
the familiar ones.

Meet The Old And The New Spirits At The Dake House

Martha's mother crossed over in the Pink Room.
Her spirit remains. On the night of the Spirit
Tour she was quite cranky, not wanting to talk.
But there have been other times when she shows
and shares her presence with orbs captured in
pictures and also of other light sources such as
what I captured on the ceiling in this photo. This
is not a reflection from any surface item or
mirror, or a sun beam from a window.

By the renown
"Haunted
Painting" sits
a woman spirit
who claims to
be the owner.
Interviewing
her in the
summer of
2006, (and
catching her
energy orb)
she was
adamant in her
pleas that
Martha not sell

At the Spirit Tour, guests were dowsing in the parlor. The
woman, quite happy to have people visit, made the
dowsing rods spin - a sign showing her joy... like 'dancing.'

There is a spirit who sits upon the bed in the upstairs bedroom. At the 2009 Spirit Tour
Marilyn discovered a butt print on the white bed spread along with a bug that had been
squished, apparently when it was sat on. Martha stated there was no print on the material
earlier in the day, and, that her mother liked to sit in this room.
I have masked my picture for your eyes to see the print more clearly.

I captured a spirit's energy in this bedroom on
the night of the Spirit Tour. Perhaps this is the
mother's energy orb.

When I visit Genoa I feel many indigenous people - they being
a few thousand years old - perhaps the ancestors of the Native
Americans of this area. Many of these sacred people still
reside in Genoa with a few at the Antique store. One man
likes to stay in the basement, but does pop up into the Yellow
Room so he can enjoy those who come to shop or visit. His
energy orb was captured near the ceiling, in the Yellow Room.

On the night of the Spirit Tour
(2010) we visited the foundation
stones of the Undertaker's Parlor.
The' Native American' man stood
beside a clump of sagebrush. His
energy orb was captured on my
camera that evening.

Leaving for the evening I passed
by the area where one can
enter/exit the basement - on the
south side of the store. I heard
someone ask me to take their
picture. I did and this orb was
caught. I'm sure it is the Native
American man.

On the night of the Spirit Tour, I saw a
little girl standing by a baby buggy. I asked
if she could show herself and this vortex
energy was captured where she was standing.

Not all spirits show themselves as orbs, vortex or white shapes. Some like us to see who they
are. Such as this person, looking somewhat Asian, that was captured in the glass case in the
Yellow Room on the night of the Spirit Tour.

Not all spirit activity is white. Check out this black
anomaly floating downwards in the parlor.

This is interesting footage as you can see some ectoplasm rolling
over the bed, and also hear the rattling of it as it rolls. Then the
child's voice starts to laugh too loudly compared to the voices on

this painting. For each time there was a potential buyer, the woman would
make the painting fall, trying, and succeeding, to discourage the sale.
Martha agreed to the woman's wishes and the painting has been quiet (no
falling off the wall) since.

When I go into any building, I always
say 'hi' to the spirits. This one said,
"hi" back!

This spirit might have been glad we
chose them to talk to, as the spirit in
this EVP says, "she picked us."

Marilyn was asking the female spirit
to tell us the first letter of her first
name. "Em" was captured.

Janet was asking a spirit how they felt.
Along with the squeaky chair creaking,
the spirit said, "happy."

It is nice to know that some spirits
have pet names for us, as this one
who called one of us, "Dear."

Martha was telling us about the spirit
of her mother in the Pink Room. I
guess what she was saying was a
secret as this 'shh shh shh' EVP was
caught on tape.

At the Spirit tour, this loud wail and
then some type of electronic sound
was captured in the kitchen. I have
no clue as to what it is or what it
might be.

This spirit didn't want us to sit down
any more, as it says, "stand up."
