Aegirine
Scientific Aegirine:
Aegirine (pronounced EY-guh-reen / EE-juh-reen) occurs as dark green thin, brittle, translucent edged prismatic crystals and commonly occurs in alkalic igneous
rocks, nepheline syenites, carbonatites and pegmatites. It is an uncommon stone.
It was first described in 1835 for an occurrence in Rundemyr, Øvre Eiker, Buskerud, Norway. Aegirine was named after Ægir, the Teutonic god of the sea. A
synonym for the mineral is acmite from Greek meaning "point, edge," in reference to the typical pointed crystals.
Dark green is its typical color but black and brown crystals do form.
Aegirine forms impressive crystals that have become classics among collectors.

Chlorite
Scientific Chlorite:
The chlorites are a group of phyllosilicate minerals which consist of Clinochlore, Chamosite, Nimite, Pennantite, zinc, lithium, and calcium. The great range in
composition results in considerable variation in physical, optical, and X-ray properties. This range of chemical composition allows chlorite group minerals to exist
over a wide range of temperature and pressure conditions. For this reason chlorite minerals are ubiquitous minerals within low and medium temperature
metamorphic rocks, some igneous rocks, hydrothermal rocks and deeply buried sediments. Pretty scientific for such a beautiful crystal, eh?
The name Chlorite is from the Greek "chloros," meaning "green", in reference to its color and is so soft that it can be scratched by a finger nail. The powder
generated by scratching is green. The powder feels oily when rubbed between the fingers. It's color range is various shades of green; yellow, red, and white are
very rare color formations.
