I have been fortunate to tour the Queen Mary a number of times, and find I have never been disappointed by the paranormal
activity.  The Queen offers three different tours for the ghost enthusiast:  The regular tour, the dinner/tour and the paranormal
hunters midnight tour.  The regular tour can be a bit frustrating for the seasoned hunter, as you will often find this to be a “date
night” and have young people giggling and saying “boo” on a regular basis. On the regular tour you are given a flashlight, which is
a necessity.  The dinner/tour brings a more sophisticated clientele.  The paranormal hunters midnight tour is for the more serious
hunter.  With the midnight paranormal tour you have the opportunity to use more sophisticated equipment and are taught how to
use it.  Even without taking a tour of the ship you can experience ghostly encounters by just walking the halls and decks.    But I
highly recommend a tour for the maximum experience.

On one of my visits I entered one of the ballrooms that was not being used for an event at the time.  I stood in the darkness of the
room and saw a shadow of a woman hiding in the corner.  By her dress,  I would say she was from the 1930’s era.  I then began
to smell cigar smoke and whiskey.  Upon reading the story of the ship I discovered that this room had been the gentlemen’s
smoking lounge, so no surprise I smelled the cigars and whiskey!  I love these validations!

On the actual ghost tour of the Queen, you go into many parts of the ship that the normal visitor cannot get access to.  These
areas are by far the most active.  One area is the boiler room, where a very playful spirit named John resides.  The last time I
was on the tour, every time the guide would say the spirit’s name, John would make the service elevator run.  I think John looks
forward to the group visits.

From the boiler room, we moved into another area that had huge steam units that provided the power for the ship.  Here a man
had been scalded to death by the steam.  His spirit is extremely mean and can get very physical.  In this steam room area,
Disney built a small green room for their actors to change in when they used to put on a humorous ghost tour.  The ghost tours
today used to take small groups into this room to experience activity.  That was until the spirit started to physically harm tour
goers.  The last time I was able to go into this room, one gentleman was slapped in the face, which left a bright red hand print.
The next time I toured the Queen, they had built a heavy metal locked gate and no longer allowed anyone in this area.  It made
me wonder what else this angry man had done.  The tour guide would not go into this area of the ship.  She waited outside this
area and let the brave explore alone.  I have also stopped entering this area because of the spirit’s hostility, but have never seen
anyone physically assaulted again.

From here you begin your decent into the hull of the ship.  This is by far my favorite area; I could sit there in the darkness for hours
if they let me.  This area of the ship never disappoints, and I always have different experiences.  It was here that the ship had
once collided with another ship, cutting that second ship in half.  Many men died in that accident and you can hear their groans
and cries in the hull of the Queen.  Also, as you sit in the dark, you can see shadow people walk amongst the group.  On my last
visit I watched a sailor walk among the group and stop right next to me.  The guide afterward asked me if I saw him.  We both
were thrilled that he came so close to the group.  There is also a nurse who will come down into the hull area.  The guide will call
her, and you can hear her walking down the metal steps into the room.  There is a very clean smell that over comes the room
when she appears.  I have also heard something with a heavy chain being drug along the floor, coming from the front of the boat
towards where the group is sitting.  This area always produces great photo images.

You then return back up to the pool area.  A woman who had been raped and murdered remains here, as does a little girl.  The
first time I went into the pool area, as we walked in, the little girl called out to us so clearly and loud that everyone heard her.
Evidently this is a rare occurrence, so I felt very lucky to have experienced her!  The pool area also always produces great
photo images.
(When we entered the pool area and I heard
the little girl greet us I quickly snapped this
picture in the area of her voice)
The guide then takes you into the dressing area for the pool, which is open to the main hallway, and has everyone pick a
dressing room.  Once everyone is settled she turns out the lights, and you watch the shadow people walk up and down the
hallway here.  It is always interesting to me to watch the activity of shadow people in this area.
I took this photo as I was drawn to the end of the
dressing rooms. Look closely, and you can see an
orb on the dark door at the end of the hall.  I caught
this spirit just before it ducked around the corner.
This is a photo of the floor in the dressing room
that I stood in when the lights were out.  They say
that often you will see wet foot prints, or just a wet
spot, in the dressing area.
You can see a number of
orbs around the pool area.
After one of my tours, I went to the bell desk and asked where the room was that is so active they do not rent it out any longer.  I
was lucky that it was a quiet night, and the attendant took me to it.  This room now has Dutch doors, because they occasionally
take tours to view it.  The door also has a peep-hole you can look through --- which was great for me since no guide was there to
open the door.

Standing at the door you can feel a very cold breeze coming from the room.  This was definitely a paranormal cold, as there is
nowhere for a draft to come through in this room.  The maids make the bed up every day, but when you look in the peep-hole, you
will usually find all the bedding on top of the bed bundled in a ball.  The Ghost Hunters TV show once put a camera in this room,
and caught on film the bedding being pulled up.  The Ghost Hunters claimed to have debunked it, saying that someone came in
the room and did it.  I spoke with the tour guide who was on the show at the time, and she insisted that this was not true.  I do
believe her, as I have seen the bedding move myself!  I often wonder why this spirit doesn’t like that bed made!
Door to haunted room no longer rented out.  They have even
scratched the room number off the entrance so the general
public will not find this room.
If you are ever in the L.A. area, please do yourself a favor and make SURE you tour the Queen Mary!

This is one of the most haunted places I have been, and the most fascinating.  I never can get enough of
this ship!  And before you leave the ship, walk the decks when they are empty and see just who else is
walking with you!
